GECKO Silicon Cleaning Spray

We used to recommend cleaning the silicone coating with lukewarm soapy water and a sponge. Although that worked really well, it was never absolutely perfect, because you’d get wax from the ski being deposited on the silicone as well as dirt.

Having received a large number of enquiries on the subject, we decided to develop a special cleaning spray for the silicone side that will remove both dirt and wax with ease.

We firmly believe that looking after the skin is just as important as a ski service – maybe even more so. Regular skin care extends its useful life, keeps it hygienic (no mould or bacteria) and is key to safe touring.

Applying it couldn’t be easier: simply spray the silicone side with our Gecko Silicone Cleaning Spray, leave it for about five minutes to work its magic, and then wipe off with clean water and a sponge. If the silicone side is particularly dirty, we recommend working the spray in with a sponge after waiting the necessary five minutes and then wiping it off.

We recommend repeating this cleaning process several times each winter season (after about five ski tours) to keep the suction power of the silicone consistent.

The Gecko Silicone Cleaning Spray comes in a handy 100 ml spray bottle, enough for eight to ten cleans per pair. It’s also ideal to take on ski tours lasting several days, because it’s easy to transport.
