We supply the front and rear clamping system pre-mounted, so all you have to do is adjust it once only to the length of your skis at the rear end of the tension clip.
Each package comes with a special knife you can use to cut the skin precisely to size, without it moving along the ski. This simple, time-saving method lets you trim each Gecko skin to a custom fit. Check out our video on trimming the skin.
The advantages of our Gecko front system are obvious:
our front system was developed carefully and has proved successful over many years. Once you get the hang of it, it works perfectly, especially with tapered ski tips.
It couldn’t be easier to handle:
the system’s bail has a slight, rounded curve that was designed especially for tapered ski tips. First place the bail centred on the tip of the ski with two fingers, then pull it lightly downwards. Then mount the skin to the upper part of the ski with the silicone and you’re all ‘skinned up’. You’ll notice straight away that the bail won’t budge another millimetre. If the bail isn’t fixed in place by pulling on it lightly, it might rattle around while you’re skiing, and that’s not what we want.
Further advantages of this bail:
- It won’t come off during kick turns any more.
- When you’re breaking trail in deep snow, it keeps snow from getting in between the ski and the skin, since the skin reaches extremely far up to the tip of the ski thanks to the short bail.
